Timothy Ng Wai Keong
Managing Director

Timothy Ng graduated from the University of Buckingham in 1994, was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Gray’s Inn) the following year and the Singapore Bar in 1997. He has been in active practice since. In the course of practice, he pursued a two-year (part-time) Masters in Law at the National University of Singapore which he obtained in 2003.

Timothy practised in various large law firms in Singapore before he started his own practice (formerly known as Timothy Ng & Co) in 2008. He practices international arbitration/litigation, focusing principally on contractual, construction and civil engineering disputes. He regularly appears before the Singapore Courts, arbitral or adjudication tribunals on a broad range of construction and/or commercial related disputes including professional negligence. His clients include international contractors, MNCs, foreign governments and professionals.

Timothy is especially proud of being instructed by fellow solicitors. He is particularly experienced in disputes in relation to the following:

Complex Construction & Infrastructure Disputes — having led teams in various construction disputes involving highly technical issues relating to water treatment systems, railways, airports, integrated resorts, hotels, theme parks and conservation buildings;

Commercial Related Disputes — eg. commercial crimes, joint venture, M&A and shareholder disputes, banking and/or insolvency related disputes;

Projects and Infrastructure Work—  reviewing Agreements and providing advice in relation to Construction and  Infrastructure Projects  both in Singapore and overseas.

Timothy is also an arbitrator on the Arbitration panel of:

  • The Law Society of Singapore;
  • Singapore Institute of Arbitrators; and
  • Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC)(formerly known as KLRCA)

Teaching

Timothy’s vast experience in the construction law practice has also led to his appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor at NUS from 2014 to 2018 where he taught Law to the graduating cohort of architects from the NUS School of Architecture. Timothy also designed the syllabus and lectured the Construction Law Module for post graduate students at NTU School of Civil Engineering. Timothy is the course developer for the Construction Law Course at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) (formerly part of UNISIM) and has lectured there since 2012.

伍律师于1994年从白金汉大学毕业,1995年被授予英格兰和威尔士律师协会(格雷律师学院)的出庭律师资格,且在1997年被授予新加坡律师协会的出庭律师资格,自此从业法律工作。期间,他2003年在新加坡国立大学获得法学硕士学位。

伍律师曾在新加坡的几间大型律师事务所就业,并在2008年开创自己的律师馆。他实行国际仲裁与诉讼,主要处理与合同、建筑和土木工程相关的争议。再者,他经常在新加坡法院及仲裁、裁决审裁处出庭,也从事范围广泛的建筑及/或商业争议,如专业疏忽等。伍律师的客户包括但不限于国际承包商、跨国企业、外国政府和专业人士。

Timothy Ng Director Timothy Ng Wai Keong founded Timothy Ng LLC (formerly known as Timothy Ng & Co). He practises commercial arbitration/litigation, focusing principally on contractual, construction and civil engineering disputes. Timothy Ng has acted for and against professional associations in the construction industry in disciplinary hearings as well as for consultants, contractors and developers in construction related disputes, in both arbitration and litigation. His portfolio of non-contentious work involves drafting and vetting building, consultancy and other construction related documents. Timothy Ng graduated from the University of Buckingham in 1994, was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Gray’s Inn) the following year and the Singapore Bar in 1997. He has been in active practice since. In the course of practice, he pursued a two-year (part-time) Masters in Law at the National University of Singapore which he obtained in 2003. Timothy Ng has presented papers at seminars and jointly conducted workshops for professional associations in the construction industry. He has also lectured construction law as well as dispute resolution to postgraduate students on the Masters of Science (International Construction Management) programme at Nanyang Technological University. Timothy is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor at National University of Singapore, where he teaches construction law. He also heads the construction law course at UniSIM. Timothy is a Fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as well as the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators. He has been appointed to the arbitration panel of: i) The Law Society of Singapore; ii) Singapore Institute of Arbitrators; and iii) Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration He is also a member of Gray’s Inn (England & Wales) and The Law Society of Singapore. Contentious Timothy Ng’s practice covers commercial litigation/arbitration with particular emphasis on construction and civil engineering disputes. He has been involved in litigation at the appellate level as well as both domestic and international arbitrations. Timothy has also been involved in disciplinary proceedings against architects before the Board of Architects having prosecuted on behalf of the Board of Architects as well as defending an architect in disciplinary proceedings before the Board of Architects. Non-Contentious Timothy’s experience in non-contentious work includes advising on and drafting of building contracts and consultancy agreements for both local and foreign construction projects.
